Where CAVO is now
CAVO is being designed as two connected interfaces. The Network is where artists, backers, curators and creative people discover one another, connect and talk through the work. The Backing interface is where selected artists can present a funding target, intended use and proposed share of eligible revenue. Today, CAVO is building those relationships directly while developing the app and preparing to work with professional legal and regulatory advisers before any revenue-sharing opportunity is offered.

The problem

CAVO and its curators select distinctive artists. Profiles bring together the person, the work and the ambition so members can find genuine reasons to connect.
Artists and members connect around shared interests. A conversation might lead to perspective, collaboration, career access, collecting, backing or simply a worthwhile exchange about art.
In a separate interface, each artist can propose a funding target and a share of their revenue pool. Eligible backers would fund part or all of an agreed target and participate in the offered share in proportion to their contribution.
CAVO helps put economic, social, cultural and symbolic capital to work around the career. The app keeps relevant relationships connected through conversation, milestones, opportunities and agreed reporting.
Worked example
Explore an illustrative artist offer of 10% of the artist's 80% revenue pool. These figures show the calculation, rather than a forecast. Actual payments follow eligible earnings and the agreed terms.
The £80 artist revenue pool comprises £8 for backers (10% of that pool) and £72 retained by the artist.
